SES researchers have developed equipment for testing filter-absorbers for shelters
Researchers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) have developed specialized testing equipment to assess the quality of filter-absorbers used in civil defense shelters. The equipment enables the measurement of airflow resistance, the verification of filter airtightness, and the determination of efficiency in absorbing harmful airborne impurities.
The development was presented during a meeting of the commission responsible for the acceptance of the research project. The event was attended by representatives from the Department of Civil Protection and Preventive Activities, as well as the Directorate for the Organization of Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Protection of the SES.
The developed equipment represents a significant step toward establishing Ukraine’s first accredited laboratory for testing components of air purification systems used in civil defense shelters (in accordance with DSTU 9077). This will enable the verification of filters against established requirements, allow for an objective assessment of their quality, and contribute to enhancing the reliability of air purification systems in protective structures.
