The Institute patented an apparatus for testing aerosols
One setup — three types of tests. The Civil Protection Research Institute at the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine (NUCDU) has patented a device that enables the testing of the flammability of both aerosols and solid substances using a single piece of equipment.
With this setup, researchers can determine the distance at which a sprayed aerosol ignites, assess the flammability of foam-based aerosols, and measure the flame spread rate across solid materials. These parameters help evaluate the fire hazard associated with various products and materials.
For conducting tests, the setup is equipped with a movable gas burner, devices for positioning the substances under investigation, and a mechanism for preparing solid material samples. The design allows the equipment to be configured according to the type of test.
